Hitting
The bat is bigger than the ball so the first tip is to not be afraid of the ball! Stay in there, keep your eye the ball, and attack it!
Basic Batting Position
To bat effectively you need to be in a good stance to attack the ball. So let's get set:
- Set the feet slightly wider than shoulder width with you weight slightly back on your rear foot
- Get a good loose grip on the bat. (Remember that a too tight a grip slows you down)
- Keep the bat up and don't let it droop
- Keep your body set so that you can turn your head to the pitcher. You want to see the ball with both eyes.
- Don't get too open and let too much of your body face the pitcher. This takes away your power.
- Stay loose and ready to attack each pitch!
